A walking participatory performance of ‘landscape sculpture’ with the human body as the main material, which takes the form of an exercise of embodied archaeology. A new narrative about the place where the memories of the landscape and history make up “a geology of physical and cultural wounds”.
Fields of orange trees and carob trees. April tearing through the ground. The quarry. The sea surging forward. The house of the exiled Tefkros Anthias. The love between Hassan and Hambou. Bilingual prayers. Their shared sound. Their shared grave. In the context of EcoArt Pafos 2017, Geopoetics group creates an action of “landscape sculpture”, having the human body as its core material. Through a participatory route between the villages of Droushia and Androlykou, performers and spectators partake of the parallel narratives of the place in order to craft a new narration that exceeds such narratives. The memories of the landscape and of history compose a geology of natural and cultural wounds. At this particular point in spring, the action sets forth akin to an exercise in corporeal archaeology to delve into successive layers of ruptures, separations, boundaries – transubstantiating them into a unifying present of encounter and transfiguration.

Μια συμμετοχική περιπατητική περφόρμανς ‘γλυπτικής τοπίου’, με κεντρικό υλικό το ανθρώπινο σώμα, που παίρνει τη μορφή άσκησης ενσώματης αρχαιολογίας. Μια νέα αφήγηση για τον τόπο, όπου οι μνήμες του τοπίου και της ιστορίας συνθέτουν μια «γεωλογία φυσικών και πολιτισμικών τραυμάτων».
Χωράφια με πορτοκαλιές και χαρουπιές. Ο Απρίλης που σχίζει το χώμα. Το λατομείο. Η θάλασσα που επελαύνει. Το σπίτι του εξόριστου Τεύκρου Ανθία. Η αγάπη του Χασάν και της Χαμπούς. Οι δίγλωσσες προσευχές. Ο κοινός τους ήχος. Ο κοινός τους τάφος. H ομάδα Γεωποιητική δημιουργεί μια δράση ‘γλυπτικής τοπίου’, με κεντρικό υλικό το ανθρώπινο σώμα. Μέσω μιας συμμετοχικής διαδρομής, περφόρμερς και θεατές κοινωνούν τα παράλληλα αφηγήματα του τόπου, με στοχο να δημιουργήσουν μια νέα αφήγηση που τα υπερβαίνει. Οι μνήμες του τοπίου και της ιστορίας συνθέτουν μια γεωλογία φυσικών και πολιτισμικών τραυμάτων. Μέσα στη χρονική συγκυρία της άνοιξης, η δράση εκκινεί ως άσκηση ενσώματης αρχαιολογίας για να εμβαθύνει σε αυτά τα αλλεπάλληλα στρώματα ρήξεων, χωρισμών, συνόρων, μετουσιώνοντάς τα σε ένα ενωτικό παρόν συνάντησης και μεταμόρφωσης.
